Summary

The VCU College of Health Professions invites candidates to apply for the Senior Human Resources Talent Coordinator position. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Senior HR Talent Coordinator will coordinate and process the day-to-day search, recruitment, and hiring activities for the College. The main duties of this position include:
  • Serve as CHP's primary point of contact for the talent acquisition process
  • Administer and manage the recruitment, search, and onboarding process for all student workers, hourly workers, work study students, university employees, postdocs, and adjunct faculty for CHP
  • Assist search chairs administratively for all open positions as necessary - this can include but is not limited to scheduling interviews and creating candidate review forms
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources with various faculty onboarding functions
  • Proactively source and recruit for staff positions (LinkedIn, informational interviews, talent database)
  • Provide guidance to managers and staff regarding performance SMART goals
  • Maintain a repository of position descriptions, job postings, and hiring guidelines
  • Assist in answering employee and manager questions regarding annual and probationary performance evaluations
  • Participate in HR Associate group meetings and trainings
  • Support school or unit engagement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 - 4 years relevant experience handling HR responsibilities or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  • Experience with the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process
  • Experience drafting job postings and position descriptions
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding customer service skills and a high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to interpret, explain and apply HR policies, state and federal regulations and protocols
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources preferred
  • Human Resources experience in a higher education environment
  • Working knowledge of State and University Human Resources policies and procedures preferred, including experience with eJobs, Banner, and Talent@VCU HR Systems
  • Experience working with Smartsheet
Salary Range: $50,000+ (commensurate with experience)
