Work Schedule Summary

It is expected that this position would work 3 shifts per week of 4 hours. These shifts can be a combination of morning and afternoon shifts. Additionally, event shifts will frequently take place on nights and weekends, 1 event shift will typically be required each week, typically between 5-7 hours.


Morning Shift – 8:00AM-12:00PM

Afternoon Shift – 12:00PM-4:00PM

Event Shift – 5:00PM-9:00PM (Subject to change based on sporting event)

Job Summary

Assist in the daily maintenance, upkeep, and management of Utah Athletics Facilities. This position also provides support at home Utah Athletics Sporting Events.

Facilities
  • Daily work includes facility maintenance, including, but not limited to:
  • Managing storage areas
  • Supervising equipment inventory and lending of equipment
  • Picking up and distributing event/facility deliveries
  • Moving any and all equipment necessary for events or competition
  • Facility cleanup, if necessary
  • Routine maintenance work in facilities such as: asset inventory, preventative maintenance work, AED maintenance, sports equipment maintenance, sports equipment cleaning. (No previous experience required)
  • Assist with any and all requests from the Executive Director of Event and Facility Management or the Assistant Director of Events and Facilities.
Events
  • Will work in the role of event support for the corresponding event manager at an event
  • Duties will include setup, teardown, hosting guests, and assisting with any and all requests of the supervising event manager.

Responsibilities
  • Will be trained on athletics rehabilitation pools maintenance.
  • Scheduling of facility work and assigning events.
  • Ability to manage and derive duties from shared files.
  • Accepting and facilitating event and facility deliveries
  • Working closely with other entities on campus, such as the College of Health, Campus Recreation, Auxiliary Services, Commuter Services, Central Receiving, etc.
  • Will operate and maintain a high-speed weight-bearing gator for daily use: will be responsible for ensuring it is operational and has fuel
  • Must sign documentation abiding by university key/access regulations while employed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs. safely and comfortably.
  • Ability to work in weather conditions (rain, heat, sun exposure, etc.)
  • Must be able to prioritize jobs based upon number of people needed in order to accomplish tasks quickly, efficiently, and correctly.
  • Must be able to problem solve in novel situations in order to get a task done, while using creative or innovative techniques to do so.
  • Must be punctual, able to complete tasks to an end, respectful, hard-working, cooperative, and show general good-naturedness when on the job.
  • Working hours must be flexible and varied, as some sport seasons require more facility hours and some require more event.
Must be able to pass a background check.
