THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Project Coordinator 2 plans, directs, and coordinates activities to ensure the successful development and sustainability of research and evaluation projects. The research project is a nationwide network designed to advance research on emotional wellbeing and economic burden of disease (EMOT-ECON). The evaluation project evaluates the impact of crime reduction programs in Memphis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintains implementation of study activities according to timeline and problem solve when needed to overcome delays to scheduled activities.
  2. Produces reports, research summaries, and appropriate contributions to patient-directed materials, scientific meeting abstracts, academic publications, lay publications, and grant submissions as directed by research and program leadership.
  3. Conducts continuous, proactive identification of potential community partners, researchers and other individuals and continually maintains these relationships and encourages formal membership in the Network.
  4. Submits necessary grant materials to NIH for approval of pilot projects and manage that process.
  5. Identifies potential participants from around the country to interview regarding crime reduction programs, conducts interviews, and analyzes the data.
  6. Works with community partners to initiate community events in support of the evaluation of crime reduction programs.
  7. Updates and maintains a website that will serve as a resource for researchers, patients, healthcare providers, and other individuals interested in EMOT-ECON research.
  8. Develops resources for the Network, including newsletters, a library of relevant research articles, assessment tools, collaborator tools, etc.
  9. Organizes grand rounds, how to webinars, and co-lead the planning of EMOT-ECON scientific meetings by engaging speakers from across the country and world.
  10. Develops resources especially designed for Network members and develop and implement an engagement plan to have members actively participate in the Network.
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, or related Health Sciences field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of program management experience; OR Associate’s Degree and four (4) years of relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to equal eight (8) years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly developed organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and work with a study team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfort and skills as it relate to working with team members at institutions across the country.
  • Comfort with quantitative/qualitative data collection, scientific writing community-based health research, and public presentation.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings.
