Counseling Services is a department strategically integrated with Health Services within the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management. Position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and routine screening of Medicaid and Medicare Exclusion Lists. Employee loses eligibility for employment if on the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and/or System of Award Management (SAM). Must be in compliance with UHS policies regarding tuberculosis screening, measles and mumps (MMR), seasonal flu, hepatitis B, and other immunization requirements.
What will you do as a Senior Staff Therapist/Psychologist:
Native American Student Specialist
You will provide psychological intervention, prevention, and postvention programs and services to the university community, primarily to University of Oregon students. As a Native American Specialist, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and provide guidance, education, and consultation with students, parents, and families on issues relevant to Native American students. You will help develop and assist in education, training programs, and workshops to assist the UO community. You will collaborate with members of the UO community that are committed to diversity and inclusion in the Mental Health of our student body.
Who are you? (Minimum Qualifications)
Minimum Qualifications for all master's degree Therapists:
* Master's degree in counseling, couples, and family therapy, or social work.
* Currently licensed and able to obtain Oregon licensure prior to start date.
* Eighteen months of experience, with a variety of clinical issues, ranging from developmental issues to more serious psychopathology providing short-term therapy.
Minimum qualifications for all doctoral degree psychologists:
* Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program. All degree requirements must be completed prior to the start date.
* Completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited doctoral internship prior to start date.
* 18 months of experience with a range of clinical issues, ranging from developmental issues to more serious psychopathology - providing short-term therapy.
* If not currently licensed, you must be licensed in Oregon within two years of hire and must have an approved residency contract with the Oregon Board of Psychology within three months after the start date. If you are licensed in another state, you must be licensed in Oregon within six months of the start date.
In addition, this position requires:
* Nine months of providing therapy/counseling services to Native American clients/patients.

It's great but not required to have: (Preferred Qualifications)
* Nine months experience providing mental health services in a college or university setting.
* Nine months of experience in a university counseling center collaborating with campus partners.
* Experience providing education and/or prevention outreach geared toward Native American students.
* Extensive involvement with, and understanding of, Native American community, with a strong preference for involvement being with a federally- or state-recognized tribe.
