Job Summary
Approximately 25,000 Surgicals Annually; Pathology Residents; prior experience preferred; Mon-Fri day shift hours; no call. Responsibilities for this position include serving as a practitioner, educator and a role model for residents, students, and staff members on grossing complex and small specimens, as well as performing frozen sections, specimen photography, and supporting tissue procurement for clinical research . The incumbent will work independently to gross complex surgical specimens, determines the need to consult with a pathologist, makes technical grossing decisions, troubleshoots and resolves specimen receiving issues. The incumbent will be expected to be proficient in surgical pathology prosection and may on occasion need to log in specimens or place specimens on tissue processors. New PA program graduates are welcome to apply. ASCP certification required within one year of hire date.

Previous paid grossing experience in academic medical center working closely with residents preferred; frozen section experience
