Position Summary: The Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health Services (SHS) at SIU Carbondale is seeking applications for a Mental Health Coordinator (CAPS in Housing) position. CAPS in Housing offers students expanded access to mental health treatment by offering evening and weekend appointments. This position includes evening and weekend hours. CAPS maintains an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship and provides comprehensive mental health services to diverse students of a large state university. This is a 12 month, full-time term appointment. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package, professional liability coverage, and salary commensurate with experience. Duties and Responsibilities: This position will provide counseling therapy, stress management, and suicidal, homicidal assessment and evaluation to students.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned master’s degree in clinical, counseling, or educational psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program, or an earned master’s degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program, or an earned master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from a CORE accredited program. Registration as a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) or licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois or eligible for licensure in Illinois based on reciprocity in another state.
