Job Description
EDUCATION PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR, MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI), to administer and operate MITEI’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) and the Climate Action Through Education (CATE) Program. Will develop and implement--with input from MITEI’s director of education, director, deputy director, executive director, and CATE faculty director--all related programmatic objectives, secure necessary financial and personnel resources, create and ensure timelines for deliverables, track metrics for success and impact, develop strategic internal/external partnerships, and enact reporting/feedback/improvement processes. Responsibilities include reviewing student research proposals, evaluating project descriptions, rigor, financial requests, and appropriateness; engaging with the UROP office, faculty supervisors, and students; advising UROP students as they navigate their research opportunities, helping identify potential supervisors and secure funding; coordinating with the UROP office on a range of administrative issues, identifying and solving any additional issues or concerns that may arise; organizing and implementing year-round informational events to recruit MITEI UROP students; guiding the work of five curriculum developers to ensure program goals are being met; managing the team, including coordination of meetings and check-ins with the faculty director; assessing in-progress curriculum for alignment with education standards, inclusion of MIT resources and research, climate solutions content, place-based learning components, classroom feasibility, rigor, and pedagogical best practices; determining program goals, timelines, strategic planning, and operations with input from the faculty director and team; and executing program plans, including managing strategies for effectiveness and efficiency.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree and two years of administrative, operations, and/or project/program management experience. PREFERRED: master’s degree. Job #22736-7
