Director of Career Services
Reports to: SR. VP/COO
The individual in this position will lead a team who will, execute and coordinate activities that facilitate enrollment in work activities, completion of training and successful retention for employment in sector industries sectors.
Duties:
- Work effectively with partnership organizations, contract providers, and other stakeholder interest to achieve systems goals and objectives
- Lead staff efforts through peers, staff, and management to execute the strategic and operational goals of the organization
- Execute programs to connect offered through the Missouri Career Center system specifically the career assistance programs that include classroom training, job placement and supportive services
- Lead staff efforts that result in effectively connecting counseling and job placement efforts of the organization full time employment and retention of target clientele
- Ensures all compliance activities are conducted in timely and appropriate fashion related to referral, training, and placement retention completion
- Identify barriers to training and employment in order to connect and recruit population to classroom and employment opportunities
- Lead staff efforts resulting in on-time maintenance of client files/case notes, etc.
- Assist and guide clients in developing training and employment strategies, leading to career oriented employment
- Provides pre-employment and post-employment services to help customers achieve their career goals
- Provides follow-up of FEC clientele to ensure retention in training programs and that training results in employment
- Provide other duties as assigned as needed

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in education, counseling or related field
- Extensive experience in leading and directing and monitoring workforce programs targeting these populations
- Three- five years’ of management experience
- Case management career navigator efforts
- Demonstrate proficiency managing multi activities
- Experience in career or vocational counseling preferred but not required
- Experience working with federal programs
- Experience coordinating and administering service programs
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
- Must have computer skills, in order to navigate and utilize multiple computer systems
- Must be flexible
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have reliable transportation and auto insurance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skilled in organizational/time management techniques
- minorities, and individuals in need of updated training
- Work in a team environment, budget management and personnel evaluation, experience leadership activities as designated by the Senior Management
- Ability to work according to goals and objectives
- Ability to work in a performance based environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
