Chesterfield County's Information Systems Technology Department is seeking a full-time Desktop Analyst to analyze, plan, design, install and maintain PC hardware and software in the county as well as provide technical information and assistance to staff and customers. This position will be an escalation point for tier one PC support issues as well as lead a team of analysts. Perform other work as required. (Must maintain personal mobile technology as a condition of employment.) Successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED and three to five years of desktop support of Microsoft Windows systems in an enterprise environment; or a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. An ideal candidate will have a high level skills at supporting Microsoft Windows 10 in a Microsoft Active Directory environment; high level skills at supporting Microsoft Office 2003 and above including Office 365; a working level knowledge of standard networking services such as DHCP, DNS, Active Directory and print servers; a working level knowledge of IT security principles including malware defense; ability to adapt to a constantly changing workload with multiple levels of priority; ability to complete assigned projects independently and within a team environment. Experience with automating, packaging, and deploying operating systems and applications with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is a plus. Experience administering Airwatch, Laserfiche, Q-flow, Sophos Endpoint Protection, and Windows 10 enterprise is a plus. Experience in the development of basic scripts for task automation is a plus. Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) using VMware Horizon View is desired. Experience with audio-visual systems a plus.
Good driving record required. Must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check.
