Position Description
The School of Applied Sciences and Arts, with the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, invites applications for two (2) First-Year Composition Instructor positions for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Instructor positions will be assigned to either the Downtown Phoenix campus or the Polytechnic campus of Arizona State University. The successful candidate(s) will teach a 5/5 course load of undergraduate courses in First-Year Composition for on-ground students in face-to-face classrooms; prepare class materials; evaluate student work; and hold office hours to assist students. The Instructor positions are a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure eligible positions renewable on an academic year basis contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the university. Candidates must reside in Arizona or be willing to relocate.

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in English or a related field at the time of appointment
- Experience teaching in LMS such as Canvas
- Two years of teaching experience in a post-secondary environment
- Evidence of effective teaching
- Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse faculty, staff, students, and communities to advance the ASU Charter.
- Ability to teach in person at the Polytechnic or Downtown campus as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
- Doctoral or terminal degree in English or related field at the time of appointment
- MTESOL Degree at the time of appointment
- Experience teaching composition for second language learners
- Evidence of scholarly or creative activities aligned with your degree
- Evidence of participation in relevant professional development
